About Me
👋🏻 Hi there! I’m Joanne Tan (she/her/hers)
Life can throw us unexpected curveballs, leaving us unprepared and feeling less than resilient. No one is born with all the tools to navigate tough times.
In my journey, I’ve met many people from diverse backgrounds, witnessing their struggles to live genuinely. The importance of an authentic life truly hit home with the passing of my beloved grandmother. Losing my pillar of support made me question how I could go on. I explored deeply and realized I needed to ground myself.
Supporting my emotions became essential for me to move forward and truly live. Along the way, I anchored myself to the acronym SELF — Support your Emotions to Live a Flourishing life — as a personal guide. Through self-exploration and discovery, I learned to navigate my own challenges, even when the journey felt overwhelming. I understand how easy it is to feel lost without support, because I’ve been there too.
Over time, I grew, healed, and transformed. That evolution led me to where I am today: a psychotherapist, counsellor, and dedicated mental health professional, here to walk alongside others on their path to healing.
